About nine or ten Octobers ago, I did the official holiday card photo for the Biden family. I first met the charming second lady, Dr. Jill Biden, while take pictures at an event at the Naval Observatory for the American Red Cross. Two years later her staff remembered me when they were looking for a photographer to take family portraits for the annual holiday card.

I had a fun shoot at Clark Machine in Baltimore the other day. They wanted some headshots for a website revamp, but they didn't want their photos to look stiff and corporate. These guys are not pushing pencils-- they're doing stuff like fabricating sections for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge!

Every year I do lots of medical residency photos. This is one of my favorite headshot assignments, mainly because of all the free advice. "Could you turn slightly to the left? Oh, and I've been having this stabbing pain in my right knee..."

In all seriousness, I love chatting with the brilliant and ambitious young doctors who come through from places like Hopkins and the University of Maryland. And helping them match with the residency of their dreams, even in a tiny way, is also very nice.

Earlier this year (before "the 'rona" took over our lives) I had a fantastic photo shoot with the folks at Knowledge to Practice. K2P helps our docs stay current on the latest medical training and research (For example, did you know that gargling with bleach is not actually good for respiratory tract infections? Nor sadly is vodka.)

They were a really nice bunch of folks to work with and I was very happy with their headshots. After the portraits, I photographed their team in action to give them some extra imagery for their webpage.
