I was coming out of the camera store in Baltimore the other day and -- kapow! -- right in front of me is a billboard with my photos ten feet high. It was a nice surprise, and I suppose a good indication that my client (Gilman & Bedigian) liked their photos. Later I noticed the billboards up all over town, competing with my old high school classman Ryan Saiontz (of Saiontz and Kirk). Ryan used to sit behind me in biology class and now has his face on buses all over town!
The shoot for the billboard was actually a few years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday because it was so hectic and fun. Charles and Briggs were on a tight timeline, so we were running and gunning, shooting in locations all over downtown. I didn't mind though, as during my years as a newspaper photographer had well prepared me for less than optimal conditions (once I had to cart my equipment upriver in a dugout canoe...) Fortunately the guys were dressed impeccably and didn't need too much coaching, so I could just place them in some good light and click away.
As fun as these guys were to work with, I could tell that they are real sharks in the courtroom. They'll be my first call if I ever need representation!
